T-shirts.com ~ My Review

When T-shirts.com contacted me about doing a review of one of their children's t-shirts on my blog, I was excited since I love picking out clothes for the Booper! They had several t-shirts in their Kid's shirts category that were so cute. I selected this Grumposaur design, since well...the Booper can be a one at times! I thought this one was cute and funny, with the funny caption bubble, and the dino with his arms crossed. The Grumposaur jumped out to me for the Booper, probably because I love green. I selected a 3T since he is currently in 2T I thought it might be too large, though he has room to grow this shirt fit him nicely. As you can see from the pictures above, the Booper is an active little boy, and this shirt was roomy, and he seemed to be quite comfortable. I had some trouble getting him to stand still long enough for a picture!

Made of 100% cotton this shirt is a good thickness, and seems to hold up well to normal wear and tear from a 2 year old boy! T-shirts are great for my little guy, I love the ease of pulling it on and off without any fuss. He was excited to wear this one with the grumposaur on the front. He has been really excited about dinosaurs lately since he recently received a toy with dinosaurs.

T-shirts.com was easy to navigate with clearly labeled categories, I found what I wanted to see right away. I took my time looking through all the t-shirts, and I loved all the super hero shirts for little boys. The Booper doesn't know most of them yet, but I can't wait for him to know who they all are, since I'm a super hero fan myself.

Don't have any children? That's alright, T-shirts.com also carry a great selection of adult shirts. I had to look at all the Vintage designs. There were so many fun retro designs that I would love to wear. Things I had when I was a kid, such as a t-shirt with The Smurfs or TMNT (teenaged mutant ninja turtles) Turtles in a half shell...Turtle Power! Haha..yes, I really do want that one.

With a great selection of adult or children's t-shirts there are so many great choices, even for that one on your list that always hard to buy for! Reasonable pricing, and an easy shopping experience are just a few of the great reasons to shop at T-shirts.com. Offering online live support, they want to help you in any way possible with your t-shirt shopping needs. Thank You, for reading my review of T-shirts.com

Cut your way to Savings!

The Booper's before and after shots, you can see he was not too happy in the first after shot! :-)
There are so many fun, and easy ways to save money. Most of the best ways, don't take much effort or courage at all. Today, I'm sharing one way we save a little money in our budget, but this is not for the faint of heart...I cut my son's hair.

The Booper has been known for his golden locks for a while now, and even when I cut his hair, I've always left it long enough to curl in the back. As you can see from the before picture it had been a while since his last cut. Quite frankly I was too busy, and didn't mind his curly locks, so why cut it?

Then on Saturday morning he got out of bed, and I was trying to comb his hair. While combing the knots out of his hair, I realized, it was time for a cut. He's always done well if he has toys on his tray, since I cut his hair while he's in his highchair. (a great tip for younger children) I've never been able to use the clippers before since he was scared of the sound they make, and I really didn't mind leaving the length. This time I decided to try to take it shorter than before, and use the clippers. At first the Booper wasn't sure about it, but I said "look out it's going to tickle you! and started giggling myself", so he started laughing, and before he knew it....I had buzzed the back and sides of his head. I used the scissors to cut the top leaving it longer for  more style. I used the longest setting on the clippers, then went back with scissors around his ears to make it look right.
Like I mentioned before, this isn't for everyone, but for those that are brave you can clip your way to savings!
There may come a time when I take him for a haircut, but for now this is another easy savings for our family.

Some things to consider when deciding if this is right for you:

  • Time is money, so will this be worth your time, and is the savings worth your time spent?
  • The Mess~ Cutting hair in your home can make a huge mess, and takes time to clean up.
  • Will the person care if you make a mistake? I've cut my husband's hair before, but he isn't too picky.
  • Will your child sit still long enough to get the cut?
  • Are you brave enough? Some people just don't have the patience for cutting hair.
I'm in no way advocating cutting hair for pay without a license, but simply cutting your spending by cutting your families hair.
Now I have a question for my readers. Honestly, what do you think of the Booper's new style?

Schylling Toys~ Sprig Dino Adventure Rig~ Our Review

Schylling was nice enough to send 3 toys for the Booper and I to review. This is actually the first toy we opened, though it's the last one to be reviewed. This Sprig Dino Adventure Rig is a fun SUV with Dinosaurs! The Booper was very excited to play with this set made by Sprig.
This adventure set is made of Sprigwood a durable, child safe, bio-composite material, made from bits of reclaimed wood and recycled plastic.
To me it feels just like plastic, though the appearance is more grainy.
I didn't know until we opened this set, that the Booper could say dinosaur, and very clearly too. I was proud of him, and happy to have learned another thing he can say.

The very simplistic design makes this set great for  imagination play as well. The small little person "Rex Jungle" has no face or arms for that matter, but the Booper has the little character do all kinds of things while playing. He loves the 2 dinosaurs that came with this set. He calls them Mom and Baby. The baby dino has been on lots of adventures with the Booper. We have lost them many times, and have to hunt for his dinosaurs, since he takes them in the car, and all over our two-story home.

I posted some of the fun water play he had with his baby dino, you can read all about that here.

Here is a short video of the Booper playing with his Sprig Dino Adventure Rig. He was camera shy today for some reason. If he wouldn't have known I was recording him, I could have videoed forever.

Not recommended for children under 3 years. If your child is younger than 3 years old, you should make sure to supervise them while playing with this set. There are a few small pieces on the vehicle.

This has been a great toy for our little guy, he talks and uses his imagination while playing with the dinosaurs. It's cute when he tells me to "Shhhhh.." since his dinos are taking a nap, and he has them laying on their side. He even covered them with his blanket one day.

The Sprig Dino Adventure Rig includes:
  • SUV vehicle
  • Rex Jungle ~ with a removable hat and backpack
  • Big Dino~ the Mom according to the Booper.
  • Small Dino~and the baby.
  • Hours of great fun!
Thanks for reading my review of the Sprig Dino Adventure Rig!
If you would like a chance to win this toy,
along with 2 other great toys from Schylling.com just go here to enter.

Balloon Power! ~My Schylling Toy Review

My son has had the best time helping me review the toys for Schylling. We received 3 toys for review, and this Balloon Powered Boat was one of them. At first I thought my son would automatically have the most fun with the largest toy, and he does love the Scuttle Bug, but this simple little boat brought some amazing laughs and giggles. My son has a little water table that we play with outside on our porch, he had some little boats that came with it, but they fell apart super fast. When I told him he had a new boat to play with, he was excited by me just taking it out of the box. Then the fun began, I wish I could have videoed, and blew up the balloon at the same time, but I'm not that talented! He was practically jumping up and down, and he didn't even know what was coming. I love watching him experience a new toy for the first time. He makes me feel young again, because I know I would have loved this toy back then too. I have to admit, I really got into playing with this boat. Watching the Booper get so excited each time I blew up the balloon, kept me huffing and puffing for quite a while!
The top picture is the Booper taking a crack at blowing up the balloon for himself, since I was catching my breath. Just take a look at the bottom picture on the left. Doesn't that face tell it all? Pure Joy!
This simple toy features:
  • Wooden Boat~ The base, stem for flag, tube for balloon, and the smaller tube for air power!
  • Balloon Power~ there were some extra balloons included.
  • Small Red Flag
~This toy is not recommended for children under 3 years old due to small parts.~ I feel that if your child is playing with water you should always be supervising no matter what their age.

Here is a very short video of the Booper and I playing with the Balloon Boat. He couldn't keep his hands off, so you don't really get to see it move on it's own. I was slightly nervous having my camera right by the water with the Booper around you never know what will happen.

My son was amazed by the bubbles coming from the air, he loves bubbles, water, and boats!
Thank you for reading my review of the Balloon Powered Boat from Schylling. ~Beck

If you would like a chance to win this toy,
and 2 other great toys.
You should enter the Schylling Toy Event.

Wash, Dry, Repeat. ~good cleaning fun.

I love talking about ways to save my family money, and these days that's an important task. Yesterday, we met up with some friends for some fabulous fun in the water. We are lucky that where we live our city has a free splash park for youngsters to go get their splash on during the hot Summer days like today. The Booper along with his friends had a great time splashing and playing in all the different water features. He didn't really want to leave, but he got a snack, so that helped the transition.

Water must have been the theme for the day, because later at home he was playing with one of his new Dinosaurs we received from Schylling, and he asked if the baby could wash his hands. His play set came with 2 dinosaurs one large and one small, obviously this was a mom and baby, right? That is how the Booper sees it, large is the mom or dad, small is the baby. Baby was dirty so he needed to wash his hands, so I held up the Booper to our sink so he could wash his Dino Baby. He took off to go play, and within minutes he was back needing to wash his Baby Dino again. I had a thought, why not give him some water to wash his Baby in? I filled a bowl with water and laid out some towels, and told the Booper his Dino was really dirty and needed a bath. He had a blast washing Baby, and Drying him, then doing it again. This led to about 20 minutes of play time, and for a 2 year old...that's a lot!
Looking for a way to keep your toddler busy without destroying your house?
Try some good cleaning fun.~Beck

Schylling Toys~ My review of the Scuttle Bug!

I couldn't wait to receive the toys for review from Schylling. Schylling is a toy manufacturer and distributor with a wonderful online shop. I was drawn to them, because of their fun vintage line of toys. After receiving the toys for review, I now know they have so much more than just vintage inspired toys.

The people behind the name: "Schylling was founded in 1975 by Jack Schylling, a recent Harvard grad who felt he wasn’t cut out for office work. He began selling toys as a street vendor at Quincy Market, and grew Schylling into a 60-person company that includes two of his brothers, David (the chief executive) and Tom (the chief financial officer)." Information thanks to Schylling.com
Jack Schylling sounds like someone I could relate to. Starting with a dream, and turning it into a reality. What a fun dream, selling TOYS!

The Booper was my faithful helper in doing this review, and he didn't complain! Let me say, for a two year old..that's rare.

Let me introduce you to the Scuttle Bug made by Quicksmart TM. This fun ride-on toy has my son scuttling all over the place. I pulled this toy out of the box, and the Booper's mouth dropped open, it was like Christmas in July. The Scuttle Bug comes fully assembled which is always great. The time between pulling it out of the box, to him riding it, was short. Right away the Booper noticed the cute Bug face on the front, and kept pointing out the eyes to me. He couldn't wait to ride the Bug. We were inside, and he rode it all around our living room. With no peddles the rider simply scoots with their feet to scuttle around. He easily got on and off, turning the handle bar and scooting to where he wanted to go.

With the small wheels and compact design, it folds and unfolds with ease. I think the Booper was just as impressed by how it would fold up as I was. He kept asking for me to fold it, and then would immediately want it unfolded so he could hop on again.(we don't have a helmet, but the instructions do recommend that your child wear safety protection)
Want to see how easily this folds and unfolds? Take a look at my video below.

Here is the Scuttle Bug in action thanks to the Booper.
I had to laugh, he hears a train while I'm filming and asks me if it's a diesel. This kid loves trains!

Scuttle Bug Features:
  • Light weight~ weighing in at only 4.2 lbs this toy is easy to carry for you or your child.
  • Easy Folds ~ for storage or travel
  • Non Marking Wheels~ great for indoor or outdoor play
  • Comes in Red or Blue
  • Ages 2-4 holds up to 44 lbs max.
The Booper gives this toy his mark of approval, and I have to agree. Cute Toy, Great Features, Reasonable Price, Hours of Fun.
Thank you for reading my review of the Scuttle Bug. Just one of many amazing toys that can be found on Schylling.com.
Stay tuned for a way to win the Scuttle Bug along with 2 other fun Toys from Schylling!

Birthday Wishes.

Today, I turn 31 years old. I believe every cliche in the book has been going through my mind today. Time flies. You're only as old as you feel. I'm not getting any younger.Older and Wiser (not so sure about this one)
My husband took today off work to celebrate with me. My wish was to spend time with my two favorite guys.We are going to eat a family lunch then take the Booper to grandma's house. I'm a bit of a girly-girl, I love pretty and sometime gaudy things. When it comes to movies, I love action, mystery, and suspense...mostly guy shows.

For my birthday, since the timing was right. I asked for tickets to go see BATMAN! Oh yes, I can't wait. We are going to watch "The Dark Knight Rises" in the early afternoon. (hopefully escaping some of larger crowds) I'm a huge Christian Bale fan, I've been in love with him every since he was Jack Kelly aka Frances Sullivan in Newsies. I'm a bit of a dork about the movie Newsies, I've watched it about a million times. So you caught me, I do love the occasional musical! Batman coming out right before my birthday works perfect for me. I'm off to enjoy being a year older, with my family. Happy Birthday to me~Beck

Ozeri has once again given me the opportunity to review one of their products. The Pro II Digital Kitchen Scale, with a built-in timer and alarm. I was thrilled to get to work with Ozeri again, when you are reviewing products for a company you are actually reviewing all aspects of working with that company as well. Working with Ozeri, has been a pleasure on all levels. I love when people do what they say, and say what they do. When it comes to companies, that feeling still holds true. This being my fourth review for Ozeri, I feel that I can honestly say, they are great! Not just because I have loved every product so far. In dealing with so many different companies in the short time while blogging, you really get a feel for who you are working with by your contact with that company. Ozeri's PR department, gets five shining stars from me.

Now, on with the product review.

When pulling the scale out of the box, the first thing I realized how light it was. One of my first jobs out of high school was working in a cafe. I used a scale on a daily basis there. At home I've never used a scale, basically because we didn't own one, until now.To turn the scale on simply press the On/Off button, to turn the scale off, simply hold the button down for about 4-5 seconds.(explaining that seems silly, but I thought I would) The scale features are great, one of my favorites being the TARE feature. This is handy because you don't want to know how much your bowl weighs, you want to know the weight of what's in the bowl. You simply set the bowl/cup whatever you are using on the scale then press the TARE button, which zeros off the digital screen. Then you can pour in what you want to weigh, and that's it. Easy, right?

The unit button works for easy conversion. You can choose, oz, g, lbs, or kg, without any trouble at all, just press unit to switch to what you need. This was a simple and easy to use feature, big button, no hassle.

If I'm 100% honest I  will tell you, I can be bad about not reading instructions.(not that I'm recommending this behavior) I found all the features to be easy to understand and figure out on my own. There is a built-in timer, which I think is a great for lots of different uses. If you've read any of my past reviews, then you know how much I HATE searching for batteries for any product. Which brings up another great feature to this scale, not only did it come with the batteries needed, it also has a 3 minute automatic power-off. Nice. We seem to always be looking for batteries because something was left on accidentally(usually my son's toys) no worries with the Ozeri scale.

So here is a break down of the great features:
  • Able to weight up to 12 lbs.
  • Built-in Countdown kitchen timer.
  • Precision Tare Button caculates the net weight of the ingredients. Great feature if you ask me.
  • Unit Button instantly converts between oz, g, lbs, and kg.
  • Bright LCD with a wide viewing angle for the on-the-go cook....haha!
  • Large weighing platform finished in elegant chrome.~ see the nice shiny reflection in my photo?
  • 3 -minute automatic power-off preserves battery life. YES!
  • Compact design stores easily and is easy to clean. The smooth design is easy to clean.
  • The Scale Runs on 2 AAA batteries~ that come included....Thank you, Ozeri!

So that's my review for the Ozeri Pro II Digital Kitchen Scale.~Weigh Away!

OASAP~ My Stylish Review

I have been honored to work with OASAP a Women's Clothing Store. I was given $60 to spend on their site for this review. I chose something I can Never have too many of. Purses! The first one I selected was the Long Lovely Girl Printing Purse as pictured above. This is what I would call a wallet, but whatever they want to call it, it is Lovely! The girly, fun, whimsical design for whatever reason reminds me of something I had as a teenager. Although, my wallet never had much money back then. I guess some things never change! The material is thin, and very flexible. I had a hard time unsnapping the coin section closure the first few times, but it seems to have loosened up now that some of the newness has wore off. (if that makes sense)
The price was $30 which seems slightly high for me, but it has a very unique design, and I have to say I love it! The simple fold over latch closure has a magnetic snap, that opened and closed with ease. Plenty of spots for all your cards and ID, you could easily slide your check book in on one side if needed. Very cute "purse" I'm very happy with this choice! Don't like the choice I made? That's alright, OASAP gains 100 new items every day, so I'm sure you could find one for you!

My next fashion find was this Studded Folding Zipped Shoulder Bag
Yes, this one called my name! With it's retro flair design offering up a casual every day style that's so me. This shoulder bag has room, but doesn't give off the I'm carrying everything but the kitchen sink vibe. With one interior pouch, and one zippered pocket the inside has a great amount of space for all your necessities. A great feature of this bag is the outside zippered pocket, perfect for your cellphone, keys or whatever you need to keep handy. There is a removable shoulder strap or easy built-in handles. I can see myself using both carry features.
I'm very much in love with this bag!
This bag is priced at $27, and in my opinion worth every penny!

With free shipping World Wide, and 20% off your first order, you could score a great deal!
That's two fun fashion finds at $30 + $27= for a pre-tax total of $57!!! Not too shabby! ~Happy Shopping! ~Beck
